Overview of the Search Process

Research

  1. Client meetings to ascertain all position specifications and expectations such as:
    • - Development of the position profile.
    • - Determine hiring criteria.
    • - List enticements (Position/Company).
    • - Establish time lines.
  1. MSA team meeting to present assignment to research and recruiter teams.
  2. Generate white paper (for internal and external with candidates).
  • - Development of the position profile.

  • - Establish time lines.
  1. Develop recruiting plan.
  • - Draft list of target companies and organizations.
  • - Check internal database for candidates.
  • - Network with industry contacts.
  • - Research, source and recruit potential candidates in targeted companies.


Recruiting

  1. Initial calls to targeted individuals.
  1. Assess potential candidates’ receptivity to make a change.
  2. Conduct initial interviews to determine where the candidate has been, is currently and wants to be.
  1. Conduct additional rounds of candidate interviews to narrow the field to 3 to 5 finalists for the position. This step may include a video teleconference or a face-to-face meeting subject to client’s approval.
  1. Present the 3 to 5 finalists to client with resumes and a summary of their current situation, qualifications, and personal motivators
  2. Schedule 1st round candidate interviews with client.
  3. Prepare candidates for 1st round interviews.

  • Interview/Selection

    1. Consult with client regarding interviewing and process recommendations.
    1. Client conducts 1st round interviews on the phone, on site, or may decide to conduct a video teleconference with out of town candidates.
    2. MSA debriefs candidates immediately following 1st round interviews.
    1. MSA debriefs client immediately following 1st round interviews.
    1. Determine who goes to 2nd round.
    2. Schedule 2nd round interviews.
    3. Prepare candidates for 2nd round interviews. Discuss counter-offer.
    1. Client conducts 2nd round interviews
    1. MSA debriefs candidates immediately following 2nd round interviews.
    2. MSA debriefs client immediately following 2nd round interviews.
    1. Schedule and prepare candidates for additional round of interview if needed.
    1. Client conducts final round interviews.
    2. MSA debriefs candidates immediate following final round interviews.
    3. MSA debriefs client immediately following final round interviews.

      • Offer/Start

        1. Client selects top candidate to offer position.
        1. MSA & client collaborate in putting together offer package.
        2. MSA extends the offer, receives verbal acceptance and establishes start date.
        1. Client sends out the written offer and package.
        1. MSA consults with candidate regarding resignation and counter-offer.
        2. MSA confirms new employee’s start date prior to day 1.
        3. MSA releases all other finalists in the process
        1. MSA consults with client and new employee on a regular basis.
